1. The Lord’s Supper
Participating in the Lord’s Supper is one of the highest privileges for believers. It is a sacred moment when God’s people gather to remember Christ’s sacrifice.
“And He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is My body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’” – Luke 22:19
“On the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached to them, ready to depart the next day…” – Acts 20:7
2. Baptism in Water
Believers have the privilege of obeying Christ’s command to be baptized, symbolizing repentance and new life in Him.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19
“Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” – Acts 2:38
3. Letters of Commendation
Members may receive letters of commendation, affirming their faith and commitment to ministry, just as seen in the early Church.
“But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul had seen the Lord and how in Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.” – Acts 9:27
“When he wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers and sisters encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. When he arrived, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.” – Acts 18:27
4. Visitation of the Sick
Caring for the sick and those in need reflects the essence of pure religion and God’s love.
“Pure religion and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” – James 1:27
5. Fellowship and Teaching
Members are privileged to partake in fellowship and receive spiritual teaching to grow in faith and serve effectively.
“For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.” – Acts 20:27-28
6. Giving and Financial Support
Contributing financially is an act of worship and obedience, supporting the ministry and the needs of others.
“Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also. On the first day of the week, let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper.” – 1 Corinthians 16:1-2
“Do you not know that those who serve in the temple eat from the things of the temple? And those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.” – 1 Corinthians 9:13-14
“For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem.” – Romans 15:26
